Effective date: October 4, 2026
The Carmona Team (Nancy and Mario Carmona) runs carmona-team.com. We care about the people who trust us with their information, and this policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean the Carmona Team. “You” means anyone who visits our website, fills out one of our forms, or gets emails or texts from us.
This policy covers our website, our online forms, and the emails and text messages we send. If you apply for an insurance or annuity product, the insurance company and the agency we work through will give you their own privacy notices, which explain how they handle the information on your application.
1. What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on our site, we collect what you enter, such as:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The best time to reach you, and any message you choose to send
If you book a time with us through a scheduling link, the scheduling tool collects the details you enter there, such as your name, email, phone, and the time you pick.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours collects some basic technical information when you visit, such as:
- The pages you view, how long you stay, and the site that sent you to us
- Your browser and device type, your general location (city or region, based on your IP address), and the date and time of your visit
We collect this through a few tools:
- Google Analytics (through a Google tag) and the Burst Statistics plugin, which help us see how people use the site so we can improve it. Both use cookies, small files saved in your browser.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may not. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
We don’t ask for, and our website forms don’t collect, sensitive information like Social Security numbers, account numbers, or health information. Please don’t send it through a website form.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to you and answer your questions
- Schedule and hold the consultation you asked for
- Introduce you to a professional you’ve asked to meet with, such as an estate planning attorney
- Send you emails or texts about our services, but only if you’ve agreed to receive them (see sections 3 and 4)
- Keep our website working, secure, and free of spam
- Understand how our site is used, so we can make it better
- Keep the records that insurance laws and the agency we work through require, and meet our other legal obligations
We don’t use your information for any purpose that has nothing to do with these reasons without asking you first.
3. Emails
If you give us your email address and agree to hear from us, we may send emails about your consultation and about our services, such as newsletters and educational updates. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it any time, or email us at mario@carmona-team.com, and we’ll stop sending marketing emails. After you unsubscribe, we may still send messages directly about a consultation or request you’ve made.
4. Text messaging terms
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, the Carmona Team may text you about your consultation (scheduling, reminders, and follow-up) and about our services.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- To stop texts, reply STOP at any time. We’ll send one message confirming you’ve opted out, and then the texts stop.
- For help, reply HELP, or email us at mario@carmona-team.com.
- Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of any purchase.
- Mobile carriers aren’t responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile number is never sold. We don’t share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the service providers that deliver our messages for us (see section 5).
5. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We also don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, which means ads targeted to you based on your activity across other websites.
We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers. These are companies that help us run our business and may handle your information only to do work for us, such as:
- HubSpot (contact management and appointment scheduling)
- Mailchimp (email newsletters)
- RingCentral (phone calls and text messages)
- Calendly (appointment scheduling)
- Google (website analytics)
- Our website hosting provider
- Professionals you ask to meet. If you request a consultation with a professional we work with, such as a licensed estate planning attorney, we share your contact information with them so they can set it up. We do this only when you ask.
- When you apply for a product. If you decide to apply for an insurance or annuity product, your information goes to the insurance company and to the agency we work through, World Financial Group Insurance Agency, LLC (in California, doing business as World Financial Insurance Agency, LLC), which supervises our insurance business.
- Legal reasons. We may share information when the law requires it, for example in response to a subpoena, a court order, or a request from an insurance regulator, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our clients, ourselves, or others.
- Business changes. If our business is ever transferred or reorganized, your information may move with it, and it will stay protected by this policy or one at least as protective.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy, such as staying in touch with you while you’re a client or prospective client. Insurance laws and the agency we work through also require us to keep certain records for a set number of years. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove the details that identify you. Website analytics data is kept according to the settings in those tools, and we keep those retention periods limited.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information: secure (HTTPS) connections on our website, password-protected accounts with our service providers, and access limited to the people who need it. No website, email, or text system is perfectly secure, though, so we can’t promise that information will never be lost or misused. Please don’t send sensitive information, like Social Security or account numbers, by email, text, or a website form.
8. Your choices
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us.
- Texts: reply STOP.
- Cookies: block or delete them in your browser, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Your information: ask us to show you, correct, or delete it (see section 9).
9. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, CCPA), gives you rights over your personal information. We honor these requests from California residents:
- Right to know. You can ask what personal information we’ve collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we’ve shared it with, and you can ask for a copy.
- Right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we collected from you. Some information we may have to keep, for example records that insurance law requires us to keep, and if so we’ll tell you.
- Right to correct. You can ask us to fix information that’s wrong.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there’s nothing you need to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out.
- Sensitive information. We don’t use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would give you a right to limit it.
- No discrimination. We won’t treat you differently or deny you service for using any of these rights.
What we’ve collected in the past 12 months, in CCPA categories:
- Identifiers and contact information (name, email, phone), from you, used for the purposes in section 2
- Internet or other electronic activity (pages viewed and device information), from your browser, used for analytics and security
- General location derived from your IP address, from your browser, used for analytics
We’ve shared these categories only with the service providers and others described in section 5, for the business purposes described there. We haven’t sold or shared any of them in the past 12 months.
How to make a request: email mario@carmona-team.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line, or write to us at the address in section 14. Tell us which right you’re using and how to reach you. We’ll confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, we’ll tell you why, and we can take up to 45 more days. To protect you, we’ll verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by matching the details you give us to the details we already have. You can have an authorized agent make a request for you. We’ll ask for proof that you gave them permission, and we may still need to verify your identity with you directly.
California “Shine the Light” law: we don’t share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing.
10. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no industry standard for how websites should respond to it, so our website doesn’t currently change what it does when it receives one. Third-party tools on our site, like Google Analytics, may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites. You can limit this with the cookie and opt-out choices in section 8. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as described in section 9.
11. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us at mario@carmona-team.com and we’ll delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, such as government sources and scheduling tools. We don’t control those sites, and this policy doesn’t cover them, so please read their privacy policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If we make a significant change in how we use your personal information, we’ll post a clear notice on our website, and when we have your email address, we’ll also email you before the change takes effect.
